Why don't we spend our time elsewhere, or doing something else, we should first consider briefly what education is, and then we can understand better why we need it, while there are many different approaches to education, I have found that John Dewey and Parker Palmer lay out a compelling vision for that education could and should be, for it to be a process and environment where we learn about what we are, learn to live wholly, and build an understanding of how the world, society and communities in which we live work.

Education should empower to us envision a better world than the one that confronts to us and equips us with the knowledge, tools and experience to make change. We need education to give us knowledge and skills to participate in society in meaningful and productive way.
